Meet the team!

The school Pupil Leadership Team would like our children to enter The Show Racism the Red Card School Competition. The Show Racism the Red Card (SRtRC) School Competition is free to enter! We want our children to think about racism and produce their own work about this serious issue. An independent panel of judges select the winning entries and winners are invited to a special Awards Ceremony at a Premier League Stadium. Prizes are presented by special guests including current and former professional footballers. This is a unique opportunity for schools to proactively demonstrate their commitment to equality and tackling racism by taking part in the UK’s largest equalities themed school competition. To enter Complete an entry and return to school no later than Monday 27th February 2023. Your child can design a t-shirt, front and back or your child can create a piece of art work (artwork must not exceed A3 size) Good Luck! We can’t wait to see your entries.

The PLT will be selling poppy items to raise money for The Royal British Legion, week commencing 7th November 2022!

2020 - 2021

This year has not quite got off to the same start for the Pupil Leadership Team. However, the members of the team have been busy working hard in school and helping to promote their sub-teams. Our Curriculum looks great and the children comment on how much they are enjoying their topics. We are all adhering to the THRIVE approach in school to help support emotional well-being. Each week the class teachers will choose a Positive Person for one of the six characteristics (Penny Pride, Rocky Resilience, Coco Creativity, Reggie Reflection, Iggy Independence or Coral and Carter Collaboration) which supports our attitudes towards our learning.

We are hoping that we will be able to go back to our weekly meetings soon and fundraising events! We will keep you posted.

Thank you Miss Campbell and the PLT members.

Update

This half term the Pupil Leadership Team have been busy working on lots of projects within school, such as a bird watching competition. The Pupil Leadership Team have been collating all of the information, collected by the children at N.C.J.S and will be submitting it to RSPB, fingers crossed we win!

As well as this the team have been coming up with ideas for Red Nose Day (15th March 2019) and will be sending out a leaflet for children, parents and carers with all of the information included.

Week beginning 4th February. The team also met with Mrs Driver. They discussed the bird watching competition, reading ideas for at home and also a healthy tuck shop! Following this meeting the team created a questionnaire and all children's view points were gathered. The team are currently work on the findings to feedback to Mrs Driver... watch this space!

Next half term the children will be fundraising for Red Nose Day and also raising awareness for World Autism Day. The children are also very excited as they are going to be carrying out some learning walks with the senior leadership. It will give the children the opportunity to see the children at Newhall working hard and having lots of fun in their lessons.

Update

This year for Children in Need we held a Great British Newhall Bake Off for all of the children and had a fantastic response. There were lots of cake entries making it very difficult for the Pupil Leadership Team to choose a winning cake. They were all very delicious and looked amazing! Here are the winning bakers...

Year 3 and Year 4

1st Place: Madelyn I

2nd Place: Jayden S

3rd Place: Matthew Mansfield

Year 5 and Year 6

1st Place: Harry P

2nd Place: Rohan and Mason P

3rd Place: Harry and Freddie S

As well as the children baking cakes, they have brought in pennies for Pudsey and wore their spots to support Children in Need! A huge well done to everyone that took part! Please take a look at some of the photographs from what has been a huge success. All of the cakes went down a treat at playtime and there was not a single crumb left in sight. We will let you know the overall total of how much money N.C.J.S raised for Children in Need.

12.10.18 P.L.T meeting to take place.

Watch this space for any updates from the meeting.

Big shout out to the team that met some parents and our parent governor earlier on this month. They introduced themselves with confidence and talked about the Pupil Leadership Team with pride. Well done!

Our first Pupil Leadership Team meeting is due to take place on Friday (14th September) and the children are very excited. They have been busy talking to the children of NCJS on the playground and they have been gathering ideas in their leadership books. Myself and Mrs Weaver cannot wait to get started and hear what the children have been finding out.

Our newly appointed Pupil Leadership are very excited to further improve school with the senior leadership team. Please share any ideas with them and they will bring them to our weekly meetings.
