Today we started our learning about WWII by having an 'evacuation' experience. Ten minutes in to our first lesson the bomb raid siren went off by surprise, causing us all to evacuate the room and seek shelter in another classroom. We were then briefed on what was happening and had to evacuate silently to a safe part of the field. This activity then helped us to understand how different people might have felt during an evacuation.
Today we started to read our new text, the Silver Sword, by Ian Serraillier. So far we have found out a little background information about Poland during WWII and completed a series of missions in role as the Polish teacher, Joseph.
After looking through the gap analysis of our recent tests we will be starting with some Place Value work, moving up to numbers as large as one million!
