Moving Forward, Aiming High!

Week 3 (18.01.2021 - 22.01.2021)

This week in reading we will be looking at an extract from the book Secrets of a Sun King. The children have been busy picking out clues from the text to design their own version of the mysterious jar/vase which has landed itself in the hands of the narrator.
This week in writing, the children will write their Tadeo Jones adventure story. The intrepid, courageous archaeologist is excavating in Egypt, attempting to discover artefacts that have remained hidden for thousands of years. His adventures will see him explore the Egyptian desert, pyramids and tombs. We have also looked at how to use speech punctuation, before the children apply this knowledge in their writing. We can't wait to delve into the mysterious world of Tadeo and see how creative the children can be.
This week in Maths, the children have been exploring the concept of Ratio. They worked through the Knowledge Organiser recording and the WRH videos to apply and showcase their understanding. Look at their fantastic responses to fluency, reasoning and problem-solving questions linked to Ratio.

The children have designed and created functioning shaduf models in history this week. They have been very creative and resourceful when making their models and have produced some lovely work.

Thank you for sharing it with us!
