Moving Forward, Aiming High!

Week 8 (01.03.2021 - 05.03.2021)

Year 6 have been exploring an array of colours found around themselves at home. They went on a colour scavenger hunt, collecting objects around the home. Then, they used these objects to create their own colour wheel.

Art - Colour wheel

The children were asked to create a bright, colourful and creative poster (on the computer or on paper) with lots of interesting facts about the Galapagos Islands. Take a look at some below.

Vocabulary grids - we looked at our word selector words from the text and explored different ways to understand these new words.
The children also created crossword puzzles as another way of exploring new vocabulary and gaining an understanding of new words.
In Maths, we have continued our Statistics unit. In this unit we will be looking at reading, interpreting and drawing line graphs and pie charts, as well as looking at the average mean and parts of a circle. Take a look at the amazing remote learning we are producing for this unit.

In P.S.H.E this week we have been focusing on emotional and mental health. We began by understanding the terms emotional and metal health and then identifying our own coping strategies. The children have displayed their differing levels of emotional wellness using an emotion well. On this they described their emotions and how they could use different strategies to help them feel better.
